The classic gummy bear is made from a mixture of sugar, glucose syrup, starch, flavoring, food coloring, citric acid, and gelatin. However, recipes vary, like for organic gummies and flavors.
|
Process:
Gummy bears and molds are created from flat boxes that are transported along a conveyor belt and stamped by hundreds of plaster stamps during the process. These boxes continue along the conveyor belt to the next stage of production, where nozzles inject a hot, liquid gummy mixture into the impressions. The gummies then go through a long drying process in drying rooms.

The gummies are then ready to be automatically weighed by the packaging machine and packed into bags. They are then sent out to customers around the world.

Use:
Gummy bears are used for eating! Their chewy consistency is squishy and yummy and are (in my opinion) one of the best candies ever created!
|
Since their gelatin substance is edible, they are eaten and then digested in your stomach (and may give you cavities if you eat too many). Although it sounds like gummy bears don't have a long life because of their deliciousness, they can be reused in many crafty ways if you don't eat them; but are not normally recyclable.
