My energy source that I chose is Hydropower, which is is power produced from the energy of falling water or fast running water.
INVESTIGATION
Hydropower is a renewable resource.
The most common usage of hydropower is through dams on rivers that store water in reservoirs, then water is released from the reservoir, it flows through a turbine, then it activates a generator to produce electricity.
Hydroelectric power plants require dams and reservoirs to create the energy.
Hydropower is already a very environmentally friendly source of producing energy. The decreases the rate of pollution and it is always being reused, hence that it is a renewable resource. It allows places to produce their own energy without being reliant on other fuel sources.
I personally think that either hydropower, solar power, or wind power are the three most important ways to produce energy. These three would reduce the amount of pollution being released into the air, ocean, etc. when our energy is being burned by fossil fuels and other resources. All three of these sources of energy are also renewable resources, and eventually we will run out of fossil fuels to burn. If we were to switch to making energy from those renewable resources and other resources that wouldn't harm the environment, then the Earth would become a much more cleaner and healthier place.
What really impresses me about hydropower is how somewhat simple it is to create energy of the same amount as energy created from fossil fuels that keeps the Earth clean. It's really cool how the running water just goes through the dams and reservoir generators that turn turbines which creates the energy and is then transferred through power lines.
